Canada’s wait list insurance phenomenon
The Canadian health care system, which Obama so glowingly admires, is famous among Canadians for long waiting times for critical treatments. Many patients have died while on the waiting list. Enterprising insurance companies have come up with a policy to address this problem. Called “wait list insurance”, it offers the insured the option of private treatment or treatment in the U.S. if the are put on a waiting list that is longer than 45 days.
