Previous rumors about Bangkok Hospital planning to develop a new facility in Pak Chong seemed to have been based on facts but were a bit incomplete. The details actually appeared in The Nation back in June but I missed it. According to that story, Bangkok Hospital Group purchased land on Mittraphap Road adjacent to the Outlet Mall, so that part of the rumor was correct. The additional bit of information in that story is that there will be two facilities built, a medium-sized hospital and a rehabilitation center. The comparison is to the facility in Hua Hin which is of similar size.

The CEO of Bangkok Hospital was quoted as saying a major factor in the timing of opening the new centers would be the availability of medical staff. Yes, that would be a major factor, and considering the repeated sub-par performance of medical staff at Bangkok Hospital’s Korat facility and their hospital clinic in Pak Chong that I have personally experienced I think the new center could end up being more fancy and expensive facilities that dish out poor quality medical care.
